This is a tumblelog, kinda like a blog but with short-form, mixed-media posts with stuff I like. Scroll down a bit to start reading, or a bit more to read more about me.

This past weekend, I had the honor of attending the Los Angeles stop on Dubspots Ableton Live 8 Workshops US tour. Some of the many esteemed artists in attendance were Scientist, Kid Beyond, Justin Boreta, DJ Kiva, Steve Nalepa, Daedalus as well as many others. Seeing as I’m a huge Glitch Mob fan, and have forever been curious as to some of the secret Ableton ninja skills that they utilize in both their live sets as well as in the studio, I found everything that Justin Boreta (Boreta of the Glitch Mob) had to share extremely invaluable. Since 99% of my knowlege of Ableton was learned from gracious members of the ableton community who were willing to share, I decided to do the same and write a small 3 page summary of all of the main points Boreta covered in the workshop, which include: constructing a simple high & low pass filter, his live performance set up and techniques, as well as a list of some of the Glitch Mob’s favorite effects and Vsti’s. Enjoy!
